Product Edition Information

Introduction
.

Equinox Desktop Shell comes in three varieties; Home, Professional, and Server. Whilst all versions share the same codebase to ensure maximum compatibility, they are aimed at different environments. The Home Edition was released first, and forms the subset from which all others versions will be derived.

In addition to a home-orientated interface, Equinox caters for professional environments. Equinox Server is aimed at corporate networks, and along with a host of customisation facilities, can support multiple users, allowing them to communicate and share files. Its network clients can use the Professional Edition, which provides enhanced security settings ranging from a workstation to a fully locked-down terminal.

The Standard shell will feature skinning, task management, integration with the Invenio file browser and Lite application support. Its powerful security-management features complement the remote networking support and provide the most flexible, accessible and robust shell for users with a small memory footprint.
